Marcelo "Marcio" Mariano de Sousa, commonly known as Mariano Marcano or simply Marano, is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays for FC Porto in the Portuguese Primeira Liga and the Portugal national team.
Born on February 12, 1994, in Lisbon, Portugal, Marano began his career at hometown club Benfica, where he made his debut for the first team during the 2011–12 season. He was then loaned out to Vitória de Guimarães, helping them win the Taça da Liga in 2012-13.
In January 2015, Marano moved to FC Porto, where he has since become one of the most important players in the squad. He has won numerous titles with the club, including five consecutive league titles (2016–2020) and two UEFA Champions League trophies.
